Norma Jacqueline “Jackie” Owens was born on December 16, 1935 in Columbia County, FL. She grew up in Providence and Camp Blanding. Jackie graduated from Bradford High School. Soon after graduation, Jackie married A.W. “Johnny” Chapman. They lived 20 years in military service before her husband retired and they moved to Florida. They raised their three children who now live in North Florida with their families. After Johnny’s death, Jackie married Hubert Owens. They were married nearly 20 years before his death in 2007.
Jackie was currently a member of the Orchard Community Church. She had also spent many years as a faithful member of the Madison Street Baptist Church in Starke, FL, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Jackie loved her family and church, but it was her love for her Savior that gave her life, and now He has given her life everlasting.
Jackie is survived by the family that she loved and devoted her life to: Beth, and her husband Eddie; Pam, and her husband Mike; Al, and his wife Jan; Gayle, and her husband Walter; Wiley, and his wife Jeannie; 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
A service to honor Jackie will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at 11:00am at Madison Street Baptist Church, Starke, FL. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 10:00am (one hour prior). Interment will be at Kinsley Lake Cemetery. Services will be officiated by her son-in-law, Rev. Eddie Blalock.
