Martha Jones

Ms. Martha B. Jones, age 78, of Sanderson, FL passed away peacefully on May 24, 2021, surrounded by her family at her home. She was born on May 5, 1943, in Lake Butler, to J.W. Beasley and Lucille Watters. She grew up in Union County and moved to Sanderson where she owned and operated Jones Grocery Store for the last 30 years. She loved her job and especially loved her customers. Above all, Ms. Martha was a devoted family woman who loved being with her family and especially holding family gatherings. She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Hance Brince Jones, and her parents.

Ms. Martha is survived by her daughters, Sandy (James) Smith of Macclenny, Denise (Danny) Ellis, and Tina Johns all of Sanderson; 7 grandchildren, Ricky (Stephanie) Smith of Macclenny, BJ (Jennifer) Smith of Macclenny, Melissa (Maurice) Coleman and Aaron Fox both of Sanderson, Josh (Kristin) Crews of Moniac, Kristina (Charles) Minta of Glen St. Mary, and Weston (Courtney) Johns of Sanderson; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and her sister, Eileen Callaway of Sanderson; numerous extended family also survive.

A funeral service to honor Ms. Martha’s life will be held on Thursday, May 27, at 11:00 am at the Archer-Milton Funeral Home, Lake Butler. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Wednesday, May 26, from 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. Her services will be officiated by Bro.
