Mr. Jerry Steve Carroll, age 80, of Lake Butler passed away on June 3, 2021 at UF Health Shands in Gainesville. Jerry was born in Miami to the late Steve Butler Carroll and Wilma Thornton Carroll. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Talbert Carroll. He is survived by his three daughters Joy Carroll, Judy (Dewayne) Dukes and Jill (Roy) Raber; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, as well as his beloved caregiver Betty Emmrick and his trusted dog Sadie.
Jerry was always a hard worker with construction being his gift. He had a great sense of humor and loved to swap stories with anyone who would listen. He loved working in his garden and sharing the fruit (and veggies) of his labor. He was always willing to lend a hand when needed.
He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ with the last 40 years as a member of the Lake Butler Church of Christ. He will truly be missed.
A funeral service to honor Jerry’s life will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 8th at the Lake Butler Church of Christ. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Monday, June 7th from 6pm to 8pm at Archer-Milton Funeral Home in Lake Butler. Jerry will be buried next to his beloved wife in Dekle Cemetery.
