Mrs. Anna Zee Grider, age 87 of Lake Butler, passed away peacefully at her home on October 20, 2020. Mrs. Grider was born on August 9, 1933 in Starke, FL to the late Frank and Sadie Thomas. She was born and raised in Starke but moved to Gainesville after marrying and graduated from PK Yonge. Mrs. Grider enjoyed fishing and being on the water. She also enjoyed going to auctions and watching the sunset. She was a godly woman who loved going to church and serving others. Mrs. Grider is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 48 years, James J. Pickren; her brother, J.W. “James” Thomas and her great-grandchild, Kyler.
Mrs. Grider is survived by her husband of 17 years, Mr. Lloyd Grider of Lake Butler; her daughter, Paula (Chuck) Tetstone of Lake Butler; her grandchildren, Traye (Corrie) Tetstone, Jamee (Grant Hill) Tetstone and Mallory (Tyler) Sapp all of Lake Butler; her 9 great-grandchildren, Victoria, Weston, Brooklin, Waylen, Kinzley, Koleson, Easton, Brylin and Kalianne; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
A funeral service to honor Mrs. Grider will be held on Thursday, October 22nd at the Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church at 11:am. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Wednesday, October 21st from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Archer Funeral Home Chapel and is asking that everyone follow the state and local guidelines concerning Covid19. Her interment will follow at Swift Creek Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Elder Jimmy Thornton.
There will be a meal provided following her interment at the Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church Dining Hall.
