Winifred Crosby Howard

Mrs. Winifred Crosby Howard, age 94, of Brooker, FL, passed away on May 22, 2022, at North Florida Regional Hospital in Gainesville. She was born on November 16, 1927, in Jacksonville, to Eugene and Lydia Crosby. Spending most of her life in the Jacksonville area, she worked as a supply analyst at NAS Cecil Field for 24 years. After she retired in 1988, she moved to the family farm in Brooker. Mrs. Winifred loved to garden, cook, and serve at her church, Brooker Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Rudolph C. Howard; her parents; and a brother, James P. Crosby.

Mrs. Howard is survived by her children, Gene (Anne) Howard of Winter Park, Bob (Rhonda) Howard of San Antonio, TX, Diane Alderman of Atlanta, Terri Howard of Brooker, and Elaine Howard of Brooker; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ann (Edwin) Prevatt of Brooker.

A funeral to honor Mrs. Howard’s life will be held on Thursday, May 26, at 10:00am, at her church, Brooker Baptist Church. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Wednesday, May 25, from 6-8:00pm at Archer-Milton Funeral Home, Lake Butler. She will be laid to rest at Dedan Cemetery in Brooker.
