Willie Henry Davis, 73, of Lake City, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home on August 13, 2026. He was born on July 19, 1953, in Lake City, but spent most of his life in Union and Bradford Counties.
Willie was a hardworking man who believed in doing things the right way and earning what you had. Over the years, he worked a number of different jobs, including at the filling station in Lake Butler, Coleman’s meat processing plant in Alachua, and the airport in Lake City. Each job was part of the life he built through hard work and determination.
Willie spent 30 years working at the sawmill before retiring. He was dependable, hardworking, and never afraid to speak his mind. If Willie had an opinion, you were probably going to hear it—whether you asked for it or not. He was a straight shooter and told you exactly what he thought. That honesty was just part of who he was, and the people who knew him best wouldn't have wanted him any other way.
When Willie wasn't working, he enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved fishing and spending time outdoors, and he took pride in working his cows on the farm. He enjoyed being around his neighbors and friends and was happiest when he was outside, doing what he loved.
Family was important to Willie. He is survived by his brother, Bobby Davis; sisters, Nettie Stokes and Mary Todd; and many nieces and nephews. He shared many years of memories with his family, and those memories will be treasured by those who knew and loved him.
Willie was preceded in death by his father, Robert Davis; his mother, Louise Mandy; his stepfather, Ernest Crews; and his sisters, Newt Todd and Barbara Ann Saylors.
A visitation will be held on August 22, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Archer-Milton Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to come together, share memories, and celebrate Willie’s life.
Willie was a hardworking, honest, and plainspoken man who lived life in his own way. He loved the outdoors, took pride in his work, and cared about the people close to him. He will be missed and remembered by all who had the chance to know him.
