William Earl Stalnaker, Sr.

Mr. William Earl Stalnaker, Sr., age 88, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2021 at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, FL. Mr. Stalnaker was born November 25, 1932 in Fort White, FL to the late Clarence and Eva Mae Dow Stalnaker. He proudly served in the US Army for 7 years and was a lifelong member of Am Vets and US Veterans. After the military, he worked as a mechanic until his retirement. Mr. Stalnaker enjoyed fishing, racing and joking around a campfire. He was also a die-hard Florida Gators fan. However, his greatest passion was his children and grandchildren whom he loved dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Pete Stalnaker, Shirley Boykin, Sammy Stalnaker, and Bill “Cooter” Stalnaker.

Mr. Stalnaker is survived by his children, Carmen Huggins of Pensacola, FL, Rebecca Pickle of Homosassa, FL, William Jr. (Roxanne) Stalnaker of Ocala, FL, Elizabeth (Larry) Stalnaker of Ocala, FL, Charlie (Julie) Stalnaker of Bronson, FL, and Jeff (Brenda) Stalnaker of Ocala, FL; his brother, Tommy Stalnaker of Ft. White, FL; his sisters, Lillie Polke of Ft. White and Helen Vaughn of High Springs, FL; and his 22 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

A funeral service to honor Mr. Stalnaker will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Elim Baptist Church, Fort White, FL. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 1:00pm. Mr. Stalnaker will be laid to rest at Elim Church Cemetery.
