Wendell Brown, age 62, passed away at his home in Lake Butler on March 30, 2024. Wendell was born on March 6, 1962, in Starke, FL, to the late Artemis Brown and Ruby Mosely Brown. Wendell was a dedicated Lieutenant at Union Correctional Institute for 30 years until his retirement. Known for his love of the outdoors, Wendell found joy in fishing, riding his motorcycle, and embracing all activities that allowed him to be amidst nature. His commitment to his family, career and his passion for his hobbies reflected the determined and kind-hearted person that he was. Wendell is preceded in death by his father; his wife of 30 years, Kimbery Brown, and his beloved dog, Tebow.
Wendell is survived by his mother, Ruby Brown of Lake Butler; daughters: Crystal Rimes, Katherine Benton both of Lake Butler, and Ashley (Matthew) Eubanks of Milton, FL; grandchildren: Kayley, Lane, Ashlann, Emilee, Kevin, Saydee, John, and Maddux; great-grandchildren: Jaxon, Jacobi, Jaylaya, Jaelen, Zaylin, Ryland; siblings Terry (Rory) Myers, Randall (Dorine) Brown, Rick (Susan) Brown, and Paulette (Eddie) Harden; sister-in-law Julie King; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A visitation is scheduled to take place on April 4th at Archer-Milton Funeral Home in Lake Butler from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The funeral service will be held on April 5th at the funeral home starting at 10:00am. Wendell will be laid to rest immediately following the funeral at Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Starke.
