Walter "Scooter" Ellis Wilson, Jr., age 57, passed away on November 29, 2025, in Lake Butler, Florida. Born on April 1, 1968, in Ft. Stewart, Georgia, Walter was a dedicated and hard-working man whose primary focus was ensuring the well-being of his family.
Walter’s personality shone with a good sense of humor, reflecting his approach to life which was rooted in living on his own terms. He embraced what life had to offer, always finding happiness in the simplest moments. Those who knew him cherished his hardworking nature and the laughter he brought into their lives.
An avid fisherman, Walter loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed nothing more than being with his family. His hobbies included collecting guns and listening to classic rock which vividly colored his life's canvas. Walter's proudest accomplishments were being a father to his sons and a grandfather to his grandchildren, roles he treasured deeply.
Walter is preceded in death by his parents, Walter E. Wilson Sr. and Linda Ann Goodson. He is survived by his loving sons, Robert (Jodi) Wilson, Brett Wilson, and Zach Wilson; his brother, James Cameron; his "sister," Tammy (Paula) Williams; and his cherished grandchildren, Rhett and Knox. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A viewing and memorial service to celebrate Walter’s life will be held on December 5, 2025, at Archer-Milton Funeral Home in Lake Butler, Florida, beginning at 5:00 PM, with a reception following at 7:00 PM.
Walter Ellis Wilson, Jr. will be remembered for his love of family, his hard work, and the joy he brought to those around him.
