Venera Ramonda Brown

Ms. Venera Ramonda Brown, 77, of Lake Butler, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2019, at ET York Haven Hospice in Gainesville, FL, after an extended illness. Ms. Brown was born at home in Taylor, Florida on February 3, 1942. She was a lifelong resident of Lake Butler, FL, and a graduate of Union County High School class of 1960. She worked for the school board of Union County and later owned and operated a real estate business with her husband. Ms. Brown was a member of Harmony Freewill Baptist Church. She is the daughter of the late Roy and Elzie Williams. She enjoyed everyday with her grandkids, loved to work in the yard, and adored her two boys. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Mr. Maurice Brown Jr.; her grandson, Hayden Brown; and 11 siblings.

Ms. Brown is survived by her sons, Sonny (Patti) Brown and Darren Brown all of Lake Butler, FL; 5 grandchildren, Acea (Christine) Brown of San Diego, CA, Kasey (Richard) Kelley, the late Hayden (Claudia) Brown, Kristy Clemons, and Chase Brown all of Lake Butler, FL; 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Velma Powell; brother, Dwight Williams; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

A funeral service to honor Ms. Brown’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 3, at 3:00 PM, in the Harmony Freewill Baptist Church in Lake Butler, FL. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 2:00 PM at the church. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Archer Funeral Home. 386-496-2008
