Velma Stevens

Stevens - Velma Brannen Green Stevens, 94 years old passed from this life on May 22, 2016. Born in Union County, FL on September 7th, 1921, she was raised in Lake Butler. Velma had a long and fruitful life, raising four beautiful daughters and traveling the US and Canada with the love of her life, Bob Stevens. She worked a variety of clerical jobs with the US military at Camp Blanding, FL and Vandenburg AFB, CA in addition to the State of Florida Dept of Health. Her favorite pastime was traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Stevens is predeceased by her parents: Leaty & Wiley Brannen; Husband, Robert Stevens; Daughter, Marjorie (Butch) Bergstrom and several close siblings.
Surviving family members include: Brother, Roy (Claudette) Brannen. Children: Patsy (Bill) Dealing, Linda Wells and Barbara (Dave) LaRosa. Grandchildren: William Dealing III, Robert Dealing, Wayne (Rhonda) Dealing, James Dealing, Catherine (Ray) Frey, Robin (Greg) Carter, Terry (Tamitha) Bergstrom, Andy (Vernette) Bergstrom, Lea (Scott) Montello, Julie LaRosa, and Lisa LaRosa. Great-Grandchildren: Jay (Jill) Dealing, Amanda Dealing, Connor Dealing, Caroline Frey, Will Frey, Shawn Carter, Ashley Carter, Heidi Carter, Haley Carter, Jacob (Lauren) Bergstrom, Lindsey Bergstrom, Madison Bergstrom, Chloe Bergstrom, Jackson Bergstrom, Catherynne (Jack) Starks, Lacy Gastelum, Paul Gastelum and Great-Great Granddaughter Zoie LaRosa.
A Life Celebration will be held Friday, May 27, 2016, 2:00pm at the Archer Funeral Home 55 N. Lake Ave. Lake Butler, FL 32054. Burial and Reception will follow at the Mt. Zion/Swift Creek Cemetery CR231A, near NW 150th Cir. near Lake Butler. The family would like to thank Haven Hospice, Park of the Palms Christian Community and all of Velma's friends for your loving support.
