Thomas "Tom" Miller passed away in Lake City, FL, on October 4, 2023, at the age of 73. Tom was born on November 10, 1949, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. He was the loving son of James and Wilma Miller and grew up alongside his beloved siblings Beatrice, Harriet, Shirley, Gordan and Phyllis.
Tom led an admirable career as a sergeant at Union Correctional Institute for an impressive 24 years until his well-deserved retirement. Prior to working for DOC, he pursued knowledge by attending Bible College in Hollywood, Florida. Outside of his professional life, Tom possessed a variety of interests and hobbies that brought him immense joy. He had a deep passion for reading, delving into countless books that broadened his horizons. Additionally, he enjoyed watching western movies and TV shows, immersing himself in the stories of rugged frontiersmen and their adventures. Above all else, Tom cherished spending time with his grandchildren. Their laughter filled his heart, and he took great pride in being a loving grandfather.
On October 16, 2023, a memorial service will be held at the Archer-Milton Funeral Home located at 55 N Lake Ave in Lake Butler, FL. The service will begin at 6:00 PM.
Tom is survived by his wife of 30 years, Gail Clyatt Miller, of Lake City; daughter, Andrea Miller (Shawn) of Arizona; sons Dale Moseley Jr. and Shaun Moseley of Lake City; siblings Shirley Furman of Michigan and Gordan Miller of California; brother-in-law, Ken (Ellen) Clyatt; his grandchildren, Jayla Moseley (Jonathan), Haylee Moseley (Curtis), Tyler Moseley (Taylor), and Kellan Moseley; his beloved dog, Tippy; and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Beatrice, Harriet, and Phyllis.
