Sammy Dee Haire

Sammy Dee Haire, 61, passed away November 25th, 2022, in Gainesville, FL, surrounded by friends and loved ones.

Born June 25th, 1961, Sammy was raised in Alachua, FL, by his paternal grandparents, Dee and Belle Bonnell. His memories ever so fond of the love and compassion he felt growing up in their home. Though he would come to travel countrywide driving trucks, he never veered far from his roots. Purchasing a piece of family-owned land in Trenton, FL some 26 years ago, he would raise his daughter, then spend his remaining days proudly loving his little piece of heaven on earth. Though he drove a truck for a living, that would not become his legacy. Sammy was a musician, a father, a river rate, an avid fisherman, a cherished friend, and the life of every party. When he wasn't playing guitar and singing for the masses or maintaining his yard, you would find him at the river, beer in one hand, fishing pole in the other. He was known and loved by many, boasting a remarkable sense of humor, a smile as big as the sun, and a heart to match. He lived hard, fast, and large always leaving a monumental impression. His passing leaves an immeasurable void, ever remaining unfilled. There will never be another.

Sammy was preceded in death by his grandparents (Dee and Belle Bonnell) and his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Samantha Belle Haire of Mims, FL.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 28th, 2023, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Lion's Club in High Springs, FL. Please join us in memorian as we fondly share our memories of the great big life that was Sammy Dee Haire.
