Obituary

Sally Daniels, lovingly known as “Mema” and “Memop,” passed peacefully on November 6, 2026, at Frank Wells Nursing Home. She was born on July 26, 1937, in Jacksonville, Florida, and lived a life marked by devotion to her family, faithful service to her community, and a gracious spirit that touched those around her.

A graduate of Baldwin High School, Sally built a life of steady commitment and meaningful work. Growing up, her grandparents opened the Saucer General Store where she grew up and created many loving memories with her grandparents and the residence of Baldwin. She served in the Criminal Courts Clerks office in Jacksonville, and later worked as the bookkeeper at Baldwin High School for 15 years. Her dedication to her hometown also led her into public service. She served on the Baldwin city council for five years and, for a short period of time, was named the first and only mayor of Baldwin. In each role, she brought care, responsibility, and a deep connection to the community she loved.

Sally was a proud lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Baldwin, a church woven deeply into her family’s history, as her grandfather was one of its five founding members. Her faith was a constant presence in her life and an enduring part of who she was.

She found joy in beauty and creativity. Sally enjoyed painting and exhibiting her art for others to enjoy, and she took special pleasure in working in her garden and tending to her plants. Those who knew her will remember a classy woman whose loving and generous nature was evident in the way she lived and cared for others.

She is preceded in death by both her parents, Walt and Mildred Cobb, Sr., husband of 35 years Carl A. Daniels Sr., and children, Carl Daniels, Jr. and Tina Braddock.

She is survived by her brother, Walt “Dub” (Millie) Cobb, Jr.; her granddaughters, Delicia (Rick) Hargrove, Shelly Daniels, Wendy (Brenton) Barton, and Kristin Braddock; and her grandson, Josh Braddock. She is also survived by her loving great-grandchildren, Kelsey (Dawson) Fraser, Kylee (Cameron) Wilson, Kelton Barton, Caden Parman, Mylie, Rylie and Jesslan Barton, Remi, Lavelle, Belle, Sonny Braddock and Kendall Strickland. She also leaves behind close friends, Mel johnson and Noma Clark.

They, along with all who knew and loved her, carry forward the memory of her warmth, strength, and enduring love.

A celebration of Sallys life will be on Thursday, November 12th at First Baptist Church of Baldwin at 11:00AM with Pastor Chris  Drum officiating. A visitation with the family will be an hour prior from 10-11. A meal with the family will be provided at the church afterwords.

Sally Daniels will be remembered with affection and gratitude for a life well lived—one rooted in faith, family, service, and quiet elegance. She was a strong woman, with losing both of her children, and that strength has been apparent her whole life making her a role model for the whole family. Her memory will remain a blessing to those whose lives were made richer by her presence.

In lieu of flowers, Sally has requested that donations be made to the building fund of First Baptist Church of Baldwin.

Archer-Milton is honored to take care of the family during this time.
