Ruth Holder

Ruth Holder, 88, passed away on October 30, 2016 at Haven Hospice in Lake City. She was born November 17, 1927 in Gainesville, Alachua County, Florida to Thomas Ivan Holder and Jettie Conerly Holder. Ruth is survived by a brother, Ralph H. "Hamp" Holder of Gainesville and many nieces and nephews.
She was a lifelong resident of Gainesville and of the Catholic faith. Ruth loved all things green and spent many hours planting all sorts of vines and flowers in her yard. She was an expert at canning jams, jelly, and a variety of vegetables. In her younger years, she took flying lessons and would fly over her family home so her Mother could see. She always loved to travel and to visit relatives in distant places.
Services will be held Friday, November 4, 2016 at Archer Funeral Home in Lake Butler. Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M. and funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Archer Funeral Home in Lake Butler. 386-496-2008
