Roger Eugene Culverson, born December 31st,1936, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loved ones, on September 10th, 2026. Roger was a hardworking man who worked as a roofer for most of his life. He and his wife, Bobbie, opened an upholstery shop once they moved to Starke in 1970. Roger had many hobbies in his life. He enjoyed fishing, setting his lines out in lakes around Bradford and Union County. Roger also becomes good friends with Mr. Pete Sparks, who was known to raise pit bulls. Roger also raised pit bulls for several years. He also enjoyed game chickens and was excellent at it. Most of all, Roger loved his family and his sweet wife until his very last breath. When he passed, they were hand and hand with the rest of the family by his side.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Bobbie Jean Martin Culverson; daughter, Bonnie C (Tony) Honour and her kids, Roger’s grandchildren, Nicole Middleton, Julie (Brandon) McGurty, Hannah (Michael) Sleeper, Cole (Mallory) Higgenbotham, Madsion (Josh) Smith, Karsen Middleton, and Kane Middleton. He is also survived by his son, Vince (Lorrie) Culverson and their children, Garrett Culverson, Matthew Culverson, Erika Culverson, Ashley (Michael) Thurman, and Jonathan (Katie) Culverson. He also leaves behind an extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Roger was blessed enough to be a Papa to many grandchildren who he adored and loved giving bubblegum and piggy bank money. He has also been blessed with two great-great grandchildren, Piper Jade and Lyla Mae.
There will be a graveside service on Thursday, September 17th, at 11:00 AM with a visitation with the family 30 minutes prior, 10:30 AM. All services will be at Crosby Lake Cemetery in Starke, Florida. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers please make donations to Haven Hopsice in honor of Mr. Roger.
