Robert Jackson Waters was welcomed into the arms of our Heavenly Father on September 27, 2025, at Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL. Born on May 11, 1939, in Lake Butler, Robert was a devoted servant of God and a cherished family man.
Robert was a testament to hard work and dedication. For many years, he devoted his talents to the craft of cabinet making and served as a maintenance supervisor for the University of Florida until his well-deserved retirement in 2006. His diligent spirit and commitment to excellence shone brightly in all his endeavors.
In addition to his professional contributions, Robert was deeply rooted in his faith and community. He took on numerous responsibilities within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. His unwavering service and passion for gardening and farming reflect the strength and nurturing qualities he carried in both his personal and spiritual life.
Robert's loving presence will forever resonate within the hearts of those he leaves behind, most notably his beloved wife of 51 years, Patricia Waters. Their union was a beautiful reflection of partnership and devotion. He is also survived by his son, Robert "Bobby" Waters, Jr. His legacy will continue through his grandchildren: Robert Chad (Rachel) Waters, Deanna Michelle (Zed) Merritt, John Adam (Chelsey) Waters, and Robert David (Brittany) Waters-Ostrander. Robert is also survived by his many great-grandchildren, foster children, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Though he has been called home, Robert is now reunited with those who have passed before him, including his loving parents, L.V. and Georgia Waters. He is also greeted in heaven by his sons, Dennis Waters and Curtis Waters, Sr., his grandson, Curtis Waters, Jr., and his siblings, Earl Waters, Alvin Waters, Eloise Monds, Mary Jane Waters, Joan McDonald, and Correne Stringer.
The family invites you to commemorate Robert's remarkable life at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Lake Butler, Florida. Visitation will be held on October 4, 2025, from 10:00am until 11:00am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00am. He will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Oak Grove Cemetery. Together, we will reflect on Robert's rich legacy of love, faith, and dedication to God and family.
