Sgt. Robert Romeo Fowler passed away unexpectedly on June 19, 2025, at the age of 23. Born on June 6, 2002, in Miami, Florida, Sgt. Fowler brought joy and warmth to the lives of many with his big heart and unwavering spirit.
Sgt. Fowler graduated high school from SunEd High School in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and immediately joined the United States Marine Corps, where he exemplified courage, discipline, and dedication. Upon arrival at Cherry Point then Lance Corporal Fowler successfully became a Military Police Officer (MP). Sgt. Fowler-performed his duties expertly as the Data Administrator. Sgt. Fowler's attention to detail and expertise helped to lead the Marines on their tactical application of combined arms maneuver. His technical support provided MASS 1 with the command-and-control capabilities to provide Direct Air Support Center operations to coordinate multiple aerial movements. Sgt. Fowler further demonstrated his dedication by participating in exercise NORDIC RESPONSE 2024 in Norway. Sgt. Fowler personally trained dozens of Marines on cold weather survival techniques while safely ensuring they had zero training incidents or injuries. Sgt. Fowler also participated in Joint Task Force 2025, assisted with the installation and configuration of information technology systems, enabling 2d Marine Aircraft Wing command and control training to respond to crises and operations. Sgt. Fowler was meritoriously promoted to Private First-Class while in Recruit Training, qualified as an expert in both rifle and pistol. He also earned his black belt in Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) and volunteered as MWHS 2 Color Sergeant. Sgt. Fowler's awards included the Arctic Service Ribbon, Sea Service Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Medal, and the National Defense Medal. Sgt. Fowler's proudest accomplishment was being a patriot, demonstrating his love and dedication to the United States through both his service and character.
Sgt. Fowler leaves behind a loving family, including his wife, Madelyn Garcia Fowler; his mother, Miriam Romeo Fowler; his brother, Ryan Fowler; and his sisters, Nikki Romeo, Nina M. Fowler, and Gwen Lumley. He is also survived by his grandparents, Miriam F. Casola and Alberto Casola, alongside many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory forever.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Fowler; brother Jason R. Fowler; sister Mechelle Fowler Wexler; and grandparents M.B. Fowler and Betty Fowler.
A service to honor Sgt. Fowler's life will be held at Archer-Milton Funeral Home on Saturday, July 12, 2025. A visitation will begin at 2:00pm, followed by a service at 3:00pm. He will be laid to rest will full military honors at Dedan Cemetery immediately following the service. This gathering will provide an opportunity for family and friends to share their memories and celebrate the life of a remarkable man whose legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him.
