Richard K. Eberle, known fondly as Foots, passed away on the last day of the year, December 31, 2025, at the E.T. York Care Center in Gainesville, Florida. He was born on January 5, 1974, in Jacksonville, Florida, and lived his life just as he saw fit.
A simple man by nature, Foots made his mark being a jack of all trades, most notably in carpentry, logging, and fencing. He wore many hats throughout his life, always ready to lend a hand to neighbors and friends alike. His hands, calloused and strong, were often seen working on projects around town or helping out at the homes of those who needed it.
Foots had a passion for the simple pleasures of life. He loved settling down to watch football, especially cheering on the Florida Gators. Fishing was another pastime that brought him peace, spending hours by the water, perhaps with a fishing pole in hand. And when the sun would dip low on the horizon, you'd find him spending time with friends, listening to good ol' country music, feeling right at home in the company of good folks.
He leaves behind his two daughters, Ariel Kildow and Kelcie Wood and his sister Amanda Holder and brother Russell (Angela) Eberle and his children Jordan Eberle and Hunter Eberle. Foots had a circle of friends that became like family to him, including Mary Wright, Donavan Wright, Natalie Tench, Billy Tench, and Rosa Scott. Their companionship was a blessing, and he treasured the time spent together alongside their children, Konnor Guthrie and Kolby Tench.
He is now reunited with his beloved parents, Don and Ruth Eberle.
As we remember Richard "Foots" K. Eberle, let us hold dear the qualities that made him who he was: his kindness, his laughter, and his unwavering spirit. Foots will surely be missed by many, but his simple ways and warm heart will never be forgotten.
