Ms. Dema Barnett Barker

Ms. Dema Carolyn Barnett Barker, age 90 of Lake Butler, passed away on Friday August 2, 2013 at the Lake City Medical Center after an sudden illness. Ms. Barker was born on August 1, 1923 in Irvine, Kentucky to the late William and Melinda King Barnett where she lived until she moved to Lake Butler in 1996. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Ms. Barker was preceded in death by her loving husband: Mason Barker, Sr.

Ms. Barker is survived by her daughters: Ann Sams (Donald) of Lake Butler and Melinda Barker of Lake City; sons: Mason Barker, Jr. (Barbara) of Crittenden, Ky, Thomas Wayne Barker of Bronson, Ky and Theodore B. Barker of Palatka; sister: Betty Wayson of Newport, Ky. Sixteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Ms. Barker will be conducted on Tuesday August 6, 2013 at 2p.m. in the chapel of Archer Funeral Home with Rev. Mason Barker, Jr. officiating. Internment will follow in Dekle Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8p.m. at the funeral home.
