Mr. Sidney Todd, age 88 of Lake Butler, passed away peacefully Sunday morning May 26, 2013, at the Suwannee Valley Haven Hospice surrounded by his family after an extended illness. Mr. Todd was born in Union County on November 24, 1924 to the late Isaiah and Nita Todd. He lived all of his life in Union County and was a farmer for many years as well as a Union County Commissioner for 20 years; Mr. Todd was also a member of the Sardis Baptist Church. Mr. Todd is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years Letha Todd and four brothers Bennett Todd; Kenneth Todd; Theodore Todd and Ray Todd. Mr. Todd is survived by his three daughters: Shirley (Jeff) Taylor of Lake City; Lanita (Lonnie) Combs of Lake City and Janice (David) Kelley of Lake City; three sons: Sidney E. Todd of Lake Butler, George (Kathy) Todd of Lake City and Dean (Helen) Todd of Georgia; four brothers: Mallie (Manda) Todd of Lake Butler; Vernon Todd of Starke, David Todd or Worthington Springs and Frank Todd of Beulah, GA; two sisters: Sadie (Bobby) Davis and Carolyn (Danny) Greek both of Lake Butler. 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Todd will be conducted on Wednesday May 29, 2013 at 11 A.M. in the Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Osteen officiating. Internment will follow in Elzey Chapel Cemetery.
