Mildred Bridgman

Mildred Estelle Boyce Bridgman, 98, of Lake Butler passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016. Mrs. Bridgman was born in St. Augustine, FL, but had lived in the Lake Butler area since 1957. Mrs. Bridgman was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Lake Butler. Mrs. Bridgman was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Bridgman, her daughters Joanne Manning, June Turrill, and Janice Bridgman, her parents Alice and Henry Boyce, and her sisters Pearl Honeycutt, Ida Nelson, and Alice Rainey.

Mama was a loving, caring, and a Christian lady who loved the Lord. To know Mama was to love her. She raised 10 children by herself. Mama was 42 when dad died. She not only raised her own children, but her door was always open to any child. She raised her children in church and always kept her faith in the Lord until the very end.

Mrs. Bridgman is survived by her daughters Judy Davis (Wayne) of Saraland, AL, Linda Morton, Shirley Bridgman, Diane Saunders (Steve), and Jennifer Williams all of Lake Butler, her sons Johnny Bridgman and David Bridgman (LulaMae) both of Lake Butler, a brother Leon Boyce of Midway, GA, a sister of Norma Schaeffer of Jacksonville, FL, 22 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, other family members, and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bridgman will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the Archer Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Norman, Bro. Danny Foraker, and Bro. Richard Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in Elzey Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
