Michael Wilder

Michael "Mike" Wilder passed away peacefully at his home in Lake Butler, Florida, on May 6, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on April 20, 1960, in Nueces County, Texas, to Joseph Leonard and Shirley Vannoy Wilder, Mike lived a life filled with love for his family and the outdoors.

Mike dedicated eight honorable years to the United States Army as a military police officer, embodying the values of service and commitment. After his military career, he worked various jobs and finished up his career with the Department of Corrections. 

He will be remembered for his infectious laughter and the warmth he brought to every gathering. Mike had a profound love for a variety of hobbies. Whether it was camping and hiking, or curling up with a Stephen King novel, he pursued his passions with enthusiasm. His fondness for playing computer games offered him countless hours of enjoyment.

A devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend, Mike leaves behind his beloved mother, Shirley Wilder; his brother, Matt Wilder and sister-in-law Jennie; his nephew Ron (Tanner) Wilder; his niece Grace Wilder; and his great-nephew Jackson Wilder. Each of these cherished relationships added depth to his life and joy to his heart.

He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Leonard Wilder.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation at the Archer-Milton Funeral Home on May 9, 2025, beginning at 10:00am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00am. Mike will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Midway Cemetery with military honors. Bro. Brian Reagan to officiate the service.
