Melvin Emmitt Douglas

Melvin Emmitt Douglas, Jr., age 46, of Lake Butler, FL passed away on August 29, in Gainesville, FL. He was born in Ranson, WV to Melvin Douglas, Sr. and Jacklyn Pettitt. Melvin is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Leamon and Charlotte Douglas.

Melvin is survived by his father, Melvin, Sr.; mother, Jacklyn Pettitt; sisters, Joyce (Ernie) Elixson and Leanne (Sean) Mahoney; a brother, Phillip Roop; nieces, Destiny Kangas, Jaycee Elixson, Kayleigh Roop and Lexi Mahoney; nephews, Logan Elixson, Kayden Wilson, Baylor Mahoney and Jacob Mahoney; and great nieces, Stella and Brooklyn Kangas.

A service to honor Melvin will be on Wednesday, September 2nd at 2:00pm at the Archer Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 1:00pm.
