Obituary

Mary Ruth Sikes, age 58, passed away on July 3, 2026, at Baptist Health Clay County. She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy of kindness, strength, and unconditional love. Born on December 2, 1967, in Jacksonville, Florida, Mary lived her life with a generous heart, a resilient spirit, and a deep love for her family and friends.

Mary never met a stranger. She was warm-hearted, outgoing, and always ready to welcome someone with a smile or strike up a conversation. She loved deeply, spoke her mind with honesty, and wasn’t afraid to stand up for what she believed in. Her family and friends knew they could always count on her for a laugh, heartfelt advice, or unwavering support.

When she wasn’t spending time with the people she loved, Mary found peace in the outdoors. She enjoyed camping and fishing, and some of her happiest moments were made around a campfire, on the water with a fishing pole in hand, or simply enjoying God’s creation with family and friends. Those simple moments brought her joy and became treasured memories for everyone who shared them with her.

Mary shared a life filled with love and devotion with her husband, Tim Sikes. Together they built a home where family came first, laughter was plentiful, and everyone who walked through the door felt welcome.

Nothing brought Mary greater happiness than her family. She was a proud and loving mother to her daughter, Melissa Eiserman, and son-in-law, Brandon, and to her son, Randy Horton, and daughter-in-law, Blair. She absolutely adored being “Granny” to Jacob, Kacee, Jerimyah, Abbigayle, Landon, Branson, and Adaline. Mary also shared a close bond with her sister, Debbie Harvey, and brother-in-law, Paul Harvey. She was a loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews, cherished her cousins, and was blessed with countless friends who became family. Mary was also a devoted mom to her beloved fur babies, Archie and Abby.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Mary Lauramore Holiday, and her brothers, Vernon Toole, Ray Toole, and Wayne Holiday.

Mary will be remembered for the way she made people feel. She loved fiercely, welcomed everyone with open arms, and never hesitated to help someone in need. Her compassion, laughter, and unwavering love left an imprint on countless lives. Though her family will miss her beyond words, they find comfort knowing her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and in the memories they will cherish forever. Her family rejoices in the promise that they will see her again and find peace in knowing she is resting in the arms of her Savior.

A Celebration of Life honoring Mary will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at Grace Fellowship Church, 595 S. 6th Street, Macclenny, Florida 32063. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Mary are warmly invited to gather in celebration of a life so beautifully lived and so deeply loved.
