Mary Lavern Seay, born November 29, 1942, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, at Ayers Health and Rehab in Trenton, Florida.
For 31 years, Mary served as a financial coordinator with organ transplants at UF Health Shands, a role she enjoyed until her retirement. Her quiet demeanor left a profound influence on her colleagues and the families she supported throughout her career.
Mary found joy in the simple pleasures of life, engaging in hobbies that allowed her creativity to flourish. She had a passion for crafting, painting, drawing, and decorating, which brought warmth and beauty to her home and the lives of those around her. Cooking was another love, and she shared many delightful meals and recipes with family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of love in every dish.
She is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Jimmie Seay and her step-daughter, Vicki Barron. She was a loving Gigi to her granddaughters, Jessica (Clint) Davis and Michelle (Mark) McMillian; great-grandchildren Whitney Davis, Waylon Davis, Braylee Davis, and Luke McMillian, as well as a great-great-granddaughter, Wrenlee Crane. Mary is also survived by her sister, Vonnie (Dale) Langford and many nieces and nephews that she loved deeply.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Henry "Barney" and Ella Jones Waters, as well as her brothers, Henry Waters and Fred Waters, and sisters, Velma O'Steen and Evelyn Myers.
A visitation will be held on November 18, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Archer-Milton Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate her life and remember the love she so generously shared throughout her years.
