Marjorie Dobbs

Mrs. Marjorie Wilkinson Dobbs, age 86, of Raiford, FL, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 15, 2024. She was born on February 24, 1938, on a farm in Raiford, to Rev. Maxie Wilkinson and Effie Mae (Harris) Wilkinson. She was a lifelong resident of Raiford and a 1957 graduate of Union County High. Growing up and working on a farm was very influential on Mrs. Marjorie’s life. It taught her humility, a strong work ethic, and appreciation, but it also provided a way to meet her future husband, Michael “Bud” Dobbs. It was in the middle of a pea patch where they first met and went on to enjoy 55 years of marriage before his passing in 2012. Simple, sacrificial, and spiritual would best describe Mrs. Marjorie. Her family and faith were her world and the Christ-like love and example she displayed will be imitated for generations to come. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Raiford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; both parents; and her siblings, Audrey Cawthon, Lula Mae Crawford, John “JL” Wilkinson, Rev. Kenneth Wilkinson, Gloria Dean Hickman, and Jo Ann Wilkinson.

Mrs. Marjorie is survived by her children, Paula (Dale) Traylor of Starke, Michael Alton Dobbs of Raiford, Rhonda Shealy of Lake Butler, and Larry Earl Dobbs of Raiford; her 7 grandchildren, Daniel (Kate) Traylor, Mark (Cheree) Traylor, Mathew Tomlinson, Michael (Allison) Cochran, Channing (Kayla) Dobbs, Kyle Shealy, and Kaylee Shealy; 12 great grandchildren, Aubree, Emily, Molly, Nathan, Ela, Raelynn, Ramsey Kay, Madeline, Bud, Stetson, Emerson, and Jasper; her brother, Doug (Anita) Wilkinson of Raiford; numerous extended family also survive.

A funeral to honor Mrs. Marjorie’s life will be held of Friday, May 24, 2024, at her church, Fellowship Baptist Church, at 11:00 am.
