Marjorie Crews

Marjorie Crews, age 93, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, in Lake City, Florida. Born on June 19, 1932, in Schenectady, New York, Marjorie’s life was filled with love, kindness, and many hugs.

Known affectionately for her sweet nature and an unfaltering ability to see the good in everyone she met, Marjorie carried herself with a gentle grace that was as comforting as the embrace of a warm hug—something she was always ready to give. As a devoted waitress, she served not only food but smiles and solace, making each patron feel cherished and valued in her presence.

Marjorie's hands were perpetually busy, whether crocheting intricate patterns or crafting delightful projects with her beloved grandchildren. The home she built resonated with the delicious aromas of her cooking, most notably her signature chicken and dumplings.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Susan Crews, Belinda (Roy) Baker, Allen (Debra) Crews, and Joyce Kirpach; her step-son Donald; and a robust family tree with twelve grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Marjorie also shared a special bond with her sister, Lorraine Rhodes, and her brother, Jerry Bunzey, who along with numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, carry forward her legacy.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Morris Bunzey and Johanna Joyce; her devoted husband, Lemmie Crews; her sons, Ronnie and Benny Crews; and her step-children, Geraldine, Laverne, and Vernon.

Her final earthly journey will be honored with a visitation on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed immediately by the funeral service beginning at 3:00 PM at Archer-Milton Funeral Home. Marjorie will be laid to rest immediately following the service next to Lemmie at Swift Creek Cemetery.

Those who were fortunate enough to know Marjorie Crews carry forward the gift she gave so freely—a reminder that sometimes, the greatest power we wield is the simple ability to love and to embrace.
