Marcia Jones Comfort

Ms. Marica Jones Comfort, age 68, of Hampton, FL, passed away on January 25, 2019, at UF Health Shands, Gainesville, FL. Marcia was born on September 13, 1950, in Orange Park, Florida to the late Jackson T. Brooks and Lola T. Williamson. Ms. Comfort loved to help others. After serving 4 years in the Army, she worked for the Department of Corrections as a correctional officer and psychological counselor for 12 years. She enjoyed riding motorcycles and working on arts and crafts. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jackie Thomas Brooks, Jr.

Marcia is survived by her husband of 17 years, Norman Comfort of Hampton, FL; son, Thomas (Pamela) Jones of Starke, FL; step-children, Sebastian Comfort of Tampa, FL and Megan Royer of Pennsylvania; sisters, Charlene (Larry) Freeman of Alachua, FL, Mrytice (Lynn) McCullough of Hampton, FL and Sylvia (Robert) Underhill of Starke, FL; Brothers, Curtis Brooks of Hampton, FL and Gary (Gina) Williamson of Lake City, FL; grandchildren, Tyler and Taylor Jones and Wyatt Thompson. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.
