Kellen Wallace Dupree

Kellen Wallace "Dupe" Dupree, age 39, of Macclenny, Florida passed away April 26, 2022. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on May 15, 1982, to his loving parents, Larry Dupree and Robin Rhoden Dupree. Kellen was a lifelong resident of Baker County. As a child, Kellen found his love for sports and played baseball and football. He was most passionate about football but was really gifted in baseball. Kellen graduated from Baker County High School in 2000 and was drafted to the Anaheim Angels in California. He chose to stay local and play baseball at Florida Gateway College under scholarship and later went to Edward Waters University. After school, Kellen enjoyed a long career at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Macclenny where he served as an Order Filler. Most recently he was employed as a Welder at Cummins Wagner Welding in Jacksonville, Florida. Kellen thoroughly enjoyed being outdoors; hunting, fishing, and throwing the football and baseball with his sons. He was a true leader and very influential with the youth in Baker County. Kellen was a Little League Coach for years and was currently the coach for the Yankees. He loved being a father and taking care of his family. 

He married his longtime companion and high school sweetheart, Lakisha S. Givens, on February 12, 2021. Together they raised their 5 children and enjoyed making precious memories. Kellen also enjoyed praise and worship at New Jerusalem Church of in Christ where he was a longtime member. He was such an amazing man, loved by so many, and will be truly missed. Most of all, Kellen was a family man who loved his family and friends dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. He was preceded in death by father, Larry Dupree. 

Kellen was survived by his wife, Lakisha Dupree of Macclenny, FL; mother, Robin Dupree of Middleburg, FL; children, Kierra Richardson, William Richardson, Keldon Dupree, Keston "Buddha" Dupree, and Kelsyn Dupree all of Macclenny, FL; brothers, Shannon Dupree of Gainesville, FL and Logan (Caitlyn) Dupree of Eustis, FL; sister, Abby (Clayton) Harris of Middleburg, FL; cousin who was like a brother, Kyle Adams; best friend, Joel Padgett; along with numerous family and friends.  

A Celebration of Kellen's life will be held at Christian Fellowship Temple on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 11:00 a.m . Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 6th from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the church.
