Judith May Ball was born on December 1, 1949, in Bethesda, Maryland, at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, to Peter and Elizabeth Brozino. After a difficult struggle with Alzheimer’s, she went peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at home, surrounded by her family.

As a toddler, Judy moved with her family to Philadelphia, where fate placed the Brozino family next door to the Ball family. It was there that she first met Leonard Ball, the boy who would one day become her husband and remain by her side for the rest of her life. Her family later moved to Willingboro, New Jersey, and in 1968, Judy and Leonard were married.

Early in their marriage, Leonard served his second tour of duty in Vietnam while Judy remained home caring for their daughter, Denise. In 1974, the family moved to Florida, where Judy and Leonard welcomed two more children, Elizabeth and Leonard Jr., and built the life and family that would mean everything to her.

Judy devoted much of her life to being a homemaker and raising her children. Once her two younger children entered school, she began what would become a 30-year career with the Union County School District. Over the years, she worked at all three schools and served in many different roles, from a self-contained ESE aide to attendance and, eventually, secretary at Lake Butler Elementary School. She spent countless hours making sure teachers, students, and the school were supported and that things ran smoothly. She was often joined in that work by her favorite work partner, Leonard. After 30 dedicated years, Judy retired to spend her days at home with her husband.

Retirement for Judy and Leonard was filled with the simple things they loved most—taking care of their dogs, spoiling their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, trips to Publix, gardening, and generally making sure everyone around them was happy and cared for.

Judy was preceded in death by her father, Peter; her mother, Elizabeth; her sister, Sharon; and her brother, Arthur.

She leaves behind her husband of 58 years, Leonard N. Ball; her children, Denise Ricks (George), Elizabeth Griffis (Darrell), and Leonard Ball Jr. (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Chelsea Tempest (Cody), Hillary Campbell (Troy), Andrew Nugent (Jenna), Jacob Ricks (Macey), Lane Griffis (Sarah), Luke Griffis, and Lyndee Griffis; and her great-grandchildren, Camryn, Callie, Cade, Waylon, Lucas, Georgia, Liberty, Sunny, and Josiah. She is also survived by her sister, Xenia Harris, and her brothers, Bobby Brozino and Larry Brozino.

Of all the things that filled Judy’s life, nothing brought her greater happiness than Leonard. For 58 years, their marriage was one of devotion, companionship, and enduring love. They truly lived life side by side. You rarely saw one without the other—not even in pictures. Through raising children, building careers, welcoming grandchildren and great-grandchildren, ordinary days at home, and all the years in between, they were together.

And that remained true until the very end.

Judy’s greatest legacy can be found in the family she loved, the people she cared for, and the life she and Leonard built together—a life that began when a little girl moved next door to a little boy in Philadelphia and grew into a love story that lasted a lifetime.

A celebration of Judy’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Archer-Milton Funeral Home beginning at 11:00am. A visitation time will begin hour hour prior.
