Joseph "Joey" Rae Parrish

Mr. Joseph Rea "Joey" Parrish of Brooker, Florida, passed away on November 11, 2018. He was the son of Richard Larry "Bud" Parrish, Sr. and the late Nancy Rea MacGregor Parrish. Joey grew up in the small town of Brooker where he made many lifelong friends. He graduated from Bradford High School in 1999 and was currently working in Gainesville at Baymont Inn and Suites.
After the death of his mother he moved to Roanoke, Virginia for a few years and gained many friends while living in Virginia. Joey was a kind hearted soul, with a quick wit. He made friends easily and enjoyed having fun no matter where he may have been. He found peace around the water whether he was hanging out on the beach with friends or fishing with family. Joey is preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Rea MacGregor Parrish; maternal grandparents Elizabeth and Ian MacGregor; paternal grandparents Herbert and Audrey Bell Parrish.
Joey is survived by his father, Larry Parrish, Sr. of Brooker, FL; brother, Larry (Glenda) Parrish, Jr., niece, Shelby Parrish, nephew Justin Parrish all of Starke, FL, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins from Florida to Baltimore, Maryland.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Joey will be held on Saturday, November 17 at 11:00am at New River Baptist Church in Brooker, FL. The family will receive friends for a visitation and gathering on Friday, November 16, from 6:00pm - 8:00pm, at Archer Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. His interment will be at New River Baptist Church Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Reverend Terry Blakeslee.
