John Robert Winn, Sr.

Mr. John Robert Winn, Sr., age 82, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2020. Mr. Winn was born on February 25, 1938 to the late William Franklin and Elizabeth Smallwood Winn. He was a lifelong resident of Union County and graduated UCHS in 1956. After graduation, Mr. Winn proudly joined the US Air Force and then later the US Army. He worked for the VA Hospital in Lake City until his retirement. He was also an active member of the First Christian Church of Lake Butler and the Elks Lodge 893. Mr. Winn is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Carol A. Winn; his sisters, Louise O’Byer, Margaret Crawford and Bessie Langford.

Mr. Winn is survived by his son, John R. Winn, Jr (Tammy); his granddaughter, Brandi Carlisle (Hoss); 4 grandsons, Zachary, Bradley, Justin and Hunter; his sister, Mary Jane Martin (John); Vicky Spangler and family, who loved and cared for him.

A graveside service to honor Mr. Winn will be held on Monday, November 9th at 10:30am at Dekle Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 10:00am.
