John David Spooner

In Loving Memory

John David Spooner, known to many as David, was born on June 12, 1953, in Dothan, Alabama, and passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025, in Mayo, Florida.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Louie Willis Spooner and Zeta Christelle Pate Spooner Hazeltine; his siblings, Linda Elaine Spooner Sharitt and Jerry Stephen Spooner; a niece, Carrie Kaoui; and nephews, Jordan Reaves and Stryker Spooner.

He is remembered by his brother-in-law, John W. Sharitt; sister-in-law, Kay Ott Spooner; three generations of nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

David found great joy in watching NASCAR and supporting all things related to the University of Alabama. He was passionate about animals and cherished his time working with the UCI ROCK Hounds, where he trained shelter dogs to help them find loving homes.

He will be laid to rest at Mount Gilead Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Newton, Alabama, among his family. David will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
