John Aaron Raulerson, 68, beloved husband and father, was called home to the presence of God on Friday, March 20, 2026.
Johnny was born in Jacksonville, Florida on May 12, 1957 to T.J. and Lyma Fish Raulerson and was one of five siblings.
Johnny married his high school sweetheart, Wanda Sue Davis, on December 16, 1977. He graduated top of his class from Florida State University and went on to become the youngest State Farm Insurance agent in the country. Following God’s call to ministry, Johnny and Wanda Sue moved to Memphis, Tennessee where Johnny attended Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary and graduated magna cum laude. During these years, Johnny and Wanda Sue welcomed three daughters, Kara Lee, Kanon, and Kaylen.
Over his 33 years in ministry, Johnny had the honor of pastoring three churches: Wyatte Baptist Church in Wyatte, Mississippi, Bethany Baptist Church in Plant City, Florida, and Raiford Road Church in Macclenny, Florida.
Johnny’s ministry was marked by his love of Christ and his passion for serving the local church. His heart for sharing the gospel also led him to support oversees mission work. In 2003,he helped launch International Mission Builders with the goal tobring the gospel to those in Honduras.
After retiring in 2021, Johnny continued to live a life in service to God. He and Wanda Sue devoted their time and dedication to their children and grandchildren, and he also continued to support local churches and pastors through encouragement and discipleship.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents T.J. and Lyma Raulerson. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Wanda Sue Raulerson, his three daughters Kara Lee (Tanner) Griffith, Kanon (Nathaniel) Simmons, and Kaylen (Jon) Marks; his 6 grandchildren, Archer Griffith, Dorothy Simmons, Abel Griffith, June Simmons, Whit Griffith, and Landon Marks; his siblings Gale Rhoden, Tommy Raulerson, Wanda Walker, and Jan Betros.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Johnny’s memory to Village Mission and First Coast Women’s Services.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 25 at 10:00 am at Raiford Road Church, Macclenny, FL. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Tuesday, March 24 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the church. Johnny will be laid to rest at North Prong Cemetery. The services will be officiated by pastors Nathaniel Simmons, Joel Griffis, and J.D. Milton.
