John "Johnny" Paul Gaskins

John Paul "Johnny" Gaskins, 75, of Tallassee, Alabama passed away on August 20, 2018. Johnny was born on January 24, 1943 in Lawtey, Florida to the late Willard and Ethel Gaskins. He was raised in Baker County Florida. Johnny proudly served his Country in the United States Army, during the Vietnam War. He worked for the Department of Corrections at Florida State Prison, retiring after 30 years. He loved to spend his free time fishing. Above all, Johnny enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. John Gaskins is preceded in death by his father, Willard Gaskins. Mother, Ethel Gaskins. One son, Charles A. Johnson. Johnny leaves his beloved family behind to cherish his memory.
John Paul Gaskins is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Ruth Gaskins; one son, Darren (Angie) Gaskins; two brothers, Freddie (Claudine) Gaskins, Cecil (Kathy) Gaskins; Three sisters, Frances Coleman, Debbie (Lynn) McKenzie, Marie Gaskins; three grandchildren, Jessica (Rodigo) Guzman, Emily Regar, Carrie Regar; several nephews and nieces that he loved dearly. He also survived by his beloved sidekick, Popeye. Johnny was loved by many, he will be missed.
