Jason Holton

Lake Butler

Jason Eric Holton, 47, passed away on February 3, 2026. He was born on March 4, 1978 in Gainesville, Florida, and grew up in Union County, a place he always considered home. He was a graduate of Union County High School, where he made many lifelong friends and cherished memories.

Jason was known as an extremely good salesman, a skill matched only by his ability to connect with people. He served as an officer for the Department of Corrections, a difficult and demanding job that required courage, patience, and resilience. No matter the challenge, Jason faced it with determination and, most memorably, his sense of humor. He always had a joke ready, no matter the situation, and could make people laugh even on the hardest days.

Jason had a deep passion for the outdoors. He was an avid bass fisherman, spending countless hours on the Santa Fe River or local lakes, always in search of the perfect catch. He loved the thrill of the chase, the quiet of the water, and the satisfaction of a good day spent fishing. He also had a great love for hunting, particularly hunting deer. The woods were a place where Jason felt truly at peace, and he treasured every moment spent in nature. Whether on the water or in the woods, Jason found joy in these activities, and they were a big part of who he was.

He loved large family gatherings, where his laughter and jokes filled the room. He was kind, had a big heart, and genuinely cared for others. Jason was someone people could turn to for advice in a time of need, always willing to listen and offer guidance.

He is survived by his sons, Dylan, Jackson, and Hayden Holton; his mother, Barbara (Al) Foster: his sisters, Richelle Kirby and Jeannine Cormier; his step-sister, Heather (Richard) lLawton; and numerous aunts, uncles, one niece, nephews, and cousins

Jason was preceded in death by his father, Richard Lee Holton, as well as his brother-in- law, Dwayne Cormier, and brother-in-law, Joel Kirby.

Jason will be remembered for his humor, his kindness, and his willingness to be there for others. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the lives he touched.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Archer-Milton Funeral Home beginning at 3:00pm.
