Janice Garber

Mrs. Janice McFarland Garber, age 72, of Starke, FL passed away peacefully at her home on September 12, 2019. Janice was born on August 20, 1947, in Winchester, VA, to Charles and Marion Richardson McFarland. Ms. Garber was raised in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, where she went to school and would eventually meet the love of her life, Glen Garber. They would marry in 1966 and move to Starke in 1987. Together they owned and operated Garber Air Filter Company for over 20 years. In her spare time, she loved to bowl in a league and traveling around with her kids. Above all, she enjoyed spending time and money on her grandkids. Ms. Garber is preceded in death by her father, Charles McFarland, and brothers, Michael, Gaylon, and Randy.

Ms. Garber is survived by her husband of 53 years, Glen Garber of Starke, FL; children, Janet (David) Barstow of Summerfield, FL; Glen (Tammy) Garber, Jr. of Starke, FL; and Wendy Garber of Starke, FL; grandchildren, Priscilla (Pete) Summerlin, Ashley (Steven) Preston, Katie (Robbie) Estep, Michael Garber, Jessica (Zack) Nettles, and Jamie (Carly) Loznicka; great-grandchildren; Daisey and Kiley Summerlin, Destiny and Cameron Preston, Niko and Eli Estep, and Brynleigh Nettles; numerous extended family also survive.

A graveside service to honor the life of Ms. Garber will be held on Monday, September 16, 2019, at 11:00 am, at Crosby Lake Cemetery in Starke, FL. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Archer Funeral Home of Lake Butler, FL. 386-496-2008. www.archerfuneralhome.com
