James Donald Rosier

February 4, 1954 — May 12, 2026

James Donald Rosier, known to many as Donald, passed away on May 12, 2026, at HCA North Florida Hospital after an extended illness. Born on February 4, 1954, in Starke, Florida, Donald lived a life rooted in hard work, quiet strength, and a deep connection to his community.

Donald graduated from Union County High School in 1972 and went on to dedicate nearly 40 years to the railroad with Fruit Growers Express. A man of few words, he was the kind who spoke up only when his heart was truly engaged, especially about the things he loved most.

He was a proud Mason for 51 years, serving faithfully in the Raiford Lodge #82. His commitment was unwavering—holding the role of Right Worshipful District Deputy Grand Master in 1998, passing Lodge Master for many years, and being the secretary for over 30 years. His service in the lodge was a testament to his character—steadfast, dependable, and generous with his time and skills.

Donald was a master electrician, always ready to lend a hand to those in need. When he wasn’t working or tending to his duties with the Masons, he enjoyed the simple pleasures of country life — hunting, shooting and collecting guns, running dogs, and fishing. These pastimes brought him joy and a peaceful connection to the land he loved.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Linda Prevatt Rosier, who stood by him through thick and thin. Together, they raised three children: Donnie (and Brittany) Rosier, Shannon Rosier, and Crystal Rosier. Donald’s heart swelled with pride for his grandchildren: Addisyn Rosier, Chloe Warren, Kayla Jopling, Bentley Werkheiser, and Ethan Woodard, who carried on the family spirit he cherished.

Family meant the world to Donald, and he also found joy and comfort in the relationships with his step-sister, Mary Annette Shadd (Clayton) Parrish, and his special aunt, affectionately known as "Mama", Geraldine Anderson.

Donald was preceded in death by his father, Laverne Wahlin, and his mother, Florene Rosier Shadd.
