James Calvin Pittman

James Calvin Pittman, age 70, passed away on February 18, 2024, at E.T. York Care Center in Gainesville, FL. He was born on August 16, 1953, in Lake City, FL to the late Barney and Patricia Touchstone Pittman. James led a fulfilling life characterized by his unwavering loyalty and willingness to help others. He served in the Army National Guard with honor and dedication. Over the span of 20 years, James worked at HOBO Tractor as a parts manager. Outside of work, James was known for his strong personality - described as stubborn yet deeply loyal. His kindness knew no bounds, as he was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. In his free time, James enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and passionately following NASCAR races.

A true family man, James is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Debbie Pittman of Lake Butler, FL. He was a cherished father to David (Bobbie) Pittman of Milton, FL; Kim (Kenneth) Wainwright of Starke, FL; and Jason Pittman (Becky Smallwood) of Worthington Springs, FL. He was a proud Papa to his grandchildren: Elijah (Megan), Ethan, Gabriel, Mackenzie, Tyler (Rylee), Carson, Kencie, Mason, Kaia, Kyra and Emmaleah. In addition to his immediate family members are his brothers: Charles Pittman; Michael (Pam) Pittman; Larry (Marie) Pittman; and Gary Pittman, and his dear friend who was like a brother to him - Randy Lewis.

Services for James will be held on February 21st at Madison Street Baptist Church in Starke. A visitation will be from 10:00am to 11:00am followed by the funeral service starting at 11:00am. James will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Dekle Cemetery in Lake Butler, with military honors.
