Ileen Morgan

April 18, 1922 — October 19, 2023

Astor

Ileen Stone Morgan, age 101,  passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 19 with her children by her side.  She was born in Lakeland, Florida on April 18, 1922.  She married the love of her life on February 5, 1944, and they relocated to Jacksonville, FL in 1948.  Ileen spent the later years of her life living in Jacksonville as well as spending time at her river house in Astor, Florida.

Ileen worked as a voting precinct clerk for 50 years in Jacksonville. She was a member of the German American Club, Eastern Star, and Daughters of the Nile.  She was an extremely talented lady and could make anything.  She loved to fish and work in her yard.  Her favorite pastime of all was pulling weeds.  On any given day if you rode by her house you would find her in the yard pulling weeds.  She became known as “the weed lady” in Astor.

Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her parents, John and Grace Sumner Stone, a brother, Horace Stone, and her beloved husband of 63 years, Harding Morgan.  She is survived by two children, Pamela Morgan and Kenneth (Bobbie) Morgan, and two grandsons, Wesley and Bradley Morgan.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 on October 24, 2023 at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd.  Jacksonville, FL. 32205.
