Halder Elwood Gordon

Halder "Hal" E. Gordon, 84,of Raiford, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2013, at ET York Haven Hospice in Gainesville, FL. Hal was born April 16, 1928 to O.B. and Elsie Gordon. He attended Raiford Elementary and Union County High School. At an early age Hal accepted Christ and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Raiford. In 1947 he joined the Army and served his country proud. Hal was a kind and gentle soul. He loved and adored his son, his parents, brothers and sister; his nieces and nephews and his friends. He was proceeded in death by his son Paul; mother and father; Sisters Barbara and Lorita; and Brothers Norris and Marcus. He leaves to cherish his memories Brothers: Wallace (Terry) Gordon of Penn., Gene (Sherry) Gordon of Lake Butler and Michael Gordon of Raiford; Sister Joan (Phillip) Graham of Raiford. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Hal will be conducted at 11:00AM, Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at the First Baptist Church of Raiford with Rev. Joe Murphy officiating. Internment will follow at Sapp Cemetery in Raiford. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
