Ginger Fortner Robertson, 61, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2013 at the Shands University Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. Ginger was born in Gainesville Florida, February 5, 1952. Her parents were Sidney and Ann Fortner. Most of her younger life was spent in Lake Butler, graduating from high school there. She attended Chipola Junior College in Marianna, Florida. Where she met her future husband, Chesley. Ginger later graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. She received her Master's degree in English and Literature and Journalism. Ginger also studied at the famed Actor's Studio in New York. She taught in local high schools and community colleges. Drama was one of her many interests as she played numerous leading roles in area theatres. In later years, she was very involved in the family business, started by her brothers. Preceding her in death were her brother, Michael Fortner and her beloved son, Ley Robertson. Also her uncle, Sonny Roberts and her aunt, Babs Roberts Montpetite. Those to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 37 years, Chesley, her son Charles Abram (Chad), two grandchildren, Kaylen and Ley. Ginger is survived by her parents, Sidney and Ann Fortner of Lake Butler, Florida, Her brother Christopher (his wife Michelle) Fortner of Gainesville, Florida. She's also survived by her two nieces, Lexie Fortner and Ericka Kemp and her two nephews, Michael & Cameron Fortner. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 6, 2013, 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Lake Butler. Visitation will be Sunday, 3-5:00 P.M. at Archer Funeral Home.
