Evelyn Goodman

Ms. Evelyn Goodman, age 94, of Lake Butler, Florida, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 29, 2019. She was born on November 24, 1924, in Jacksonville, FL, to Warren and Elizabeth Norman Bloodsworth. She was a lifelong resident of Union County, FL, and worked as a seamstress for the Lake Butler Apparel Company. She then took a job with General Electric and retired as a quality control specialist. Ms. Evelyn loved to cook, read, fish, and go to church. She was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in Lake Butler and worked as the church secretary for a while. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and will be deeply missed. Ms. Evelyn is preceded by her husband, Johnnie 0. Goodman; her parents; and her siblings, Harold, Francis, Wadeus, and Gene Bloodsworth, and Deloris Conner Civils.

Ms. Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Yvonne (Tommy) Hewitt of Gainesville, FL, and Karen Bielling of Lake Butler, FL; her sons, Benny (Velma) Browning of Lake Butler, FL, Charles (Darlene) Browning of Athens, GA, and Johnny Browning of Lake Butler, FL; 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; her brothers, Clifford (Lucille) Bloodsworth of Sarasota, FL, Quentin (Eldis) Bloodsworth of Lake Butler, FL, Sullivan (Beth) Bloodsworth of Ocala, FL, and Wayne (Betty) Bloodsworth of High Springs, FL; her sisters, Carolyn (Edgar) Beasley of Lake Butler, FL, Glenda Dobbs of Gainesville, FL, and Gwen Williams of Gainesville, FL; numerous extended family also survive.

A funeral to honor Ms. Evelyn will be held on Tuesday, July 2, at 11:00 am, at Faith Baptist Church in Lake Butler. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 10:00 am, at the church. Her interment will follow at Dyal Cemetery in Raiford, FL. Brother Ralph Durham will officiate the services.
