Ernest Parrish 91, of Jacksonville passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 at his residence. He was born on January 9, 1924 in Trenton, Florida to the late Levi Parrish and Leila Essie Parrish. Mr. Parrish enlisted in the United States Navy in 1942, was a pharmacists mate first class, and had an honorable discharge in 1945. During his time in the Navy he fought in World War II. After his time in the Navy he worked in various positions until employment with the federal government for 16 ½ years. He ended employment as an auto equipment repair inspector. He loved to travel, fish, and watch Florida Gator football. He is preceded in death by his wife Ola Faye Parrish and his siblings Vera Parrish, Clyde Parrish (Florence), Cecil Parrish, and Margaret "Grace" Dunagan.
He is survived by one sister in law Vannah Bryant and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Parrish will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 11:00am at Hague Methodist Church in Hague, Florida with Bro. Art Peterson officiating. Burial will take place following funeral services at Hague Community Cemetery. Family invites friends for a visitation an hour prior to the funeral services.
