Eric "Rick" Merlin Wangerin

Mr. Eric “Rick” M. Wangerin, age 73, of Starke, Florida, passed away on October 20, 2019, at the UF Shands Health in Gainesville, FL. He was born in Carthage, NY, on June 7, 1946, to the late Lewis and Eugena Flood Wangerin. After graduating high school, Rick enlisted with the United States Army and would eventually serve for over 29 years. Rick also worked in the highway department for the town of Champion, NY. He was an avid gun collector. He also enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was a 50 year member of the Elks Club as well as a proud NRA member. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Niles.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Cheryl Monnat Wangerin of Starke, FL; five children, Bobbi (Tim) McKenna of Lakeland, FL, Raegan (Barry) Belles of Philadelphia, NY, Erica (Kevin) Sanders of Burrville, NY, Julie (Tim) Covey of Carthage, NY, and Brian Dick of Watertown, NY; 15 grandkids, Cory, Cody, Kaleigh, Kelsey, Sofia, Olivia, Bella, Ryot, Ciara, Eric, Alyssa, Chris, Keegan, Abrianna, Kaidan, and Braighton; 4 great-grandchildren, Brody, Ava Lynn, Liam, and Brayson; one sister, Janice (Ronald) Moore of Melrose, CT.
