Edgar Wilson Douglass, Jr., 78, of Lake Butler, Florida, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on September 1, 2025. He was born on February 6, 1947, in Fort Meade, Florida, to Edgar Wilson Douglass, Sr. and Sara Lucille McClure.


He was preceded in death by his parents; his first loving wife, Martha Ann Douglass; his son, Edgar Wilson Douglass III; and his brothers, Sonny Douglass, Bert Douglass, and Roger Douglass.


Eddie is survived by his loving daughters, Conney (Nicky) Gay and Kelly (Randy) Carlton; his cherished granddaughters, Kierstin Jenkins, Karsyn (Andrew) Robinson, Katelynn Jenkins, Madison (Nate) Turner, and Taylor Douglass; and his adored great-grandchildren, Maverick Robinson, Reagan Robinson, and Stella Turner. He is also survived by his siblings, Lois Hersey, Charlotte (Lancin) Hersey, Mary (Doley) Hersey, Deborah (Gizzy) Hollingsworth, Barbara Hall, Jean Raulerson, Donna Warren, Larry Joe Douglass, and Bobby Douglass, along with countless nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.


A lifelong resident of Lake Butler, Eddie was a devoted Christian and believer in Jesus Christ. He retired from Clay Electric after 32 years of dedicated service. Known for his love of the outdoors, Eddie enjoyed hunting, fishing, working cattle, and farming. His hardworking spirit, love for his family, and steadfast faith will be remembered by all who knew him.


A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 4, at 4:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Lake Butler, Florida. The eulogy will be given by Brother Mike Norman. Archer-Milton Funeral Home is honored to serve the Douglass family during this time. 386-496-2008 www.archerfuneralhome.com
