Doyle Eugene Truett of Brooker, Florida passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at North Florida Regional Hospital in Gainesville, Florida after an extended illness. He was 78 years old.
Doyle was born on December 17, 1945, in Tallapoosa, Georgia to Howard Felton Truett, Sr. and Lizzie Jeanette Truett.
He joined the US Army and proudly served for 3 years. He retired as a meat cutter/butcher. Doyle's hobbies included hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He lived in Brooker, Florida and was a member of Dedan Baptist Church of Brooker.
He is survived by his daughters Ann Truett and Rhonda Truett of New Port Richie; brothers Charles Truett of Brooker, Louis Prescott of Land O'Lakes; sisters, Francis Prescott of Duette, Betty Hunter of Spring Hill, Inez Prescott of Wesley Chapel, Nellie Delong of Land O'Lakes, and Catherine Manning of Fairbanks; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a ton of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Howard Truett; his mother, Lizzie Davis Truett Prescott Sprik; his wife Sandra Grace Truett; sisters, Francis Estelle Truett Norris, Effie Mae Truett Drennon, Maude Truett Rogers, Pauline Truett Sullivan, and Mary Joe Truett; brothers, William Robert Truett, Howard Felton Truett, Jr., Arther Lee Truett, John Hendry Truett, Claude Arnold Truett, Edgar Truett, Howard Walton Truett, and Vernon Prescott.
A service to honor Doyle will be held at Archer-Milton Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. The visitation will begin at 2:00pm followed by the service at 3:00pm. Doyle will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Dedan Cemetery in Brooker. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Archer-Milton Funeral Home. 386-496-2008
