Diane King Walker

September 4, 1946 — June 23, 2025

Lawtey

Diane King Walker, born on September 4, 1946, in Lawtey, Florida, departed this world on June 23, 2025, at her sister's home in Jacksonville. She was known for her unwavering spirit and a stubborn streak that kept her loved ones on their toes. Diane dedicated an impressive 35 years of her life working at Sonny's, where she took great pride in preparing the salad bar and whipping up some delicious soups, much to the delight of many satisfied patrons.

Diane's heart beat strongest for her family. She raised two sons, Robert Box and Michael Box, who together filled her life with joy. Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren: Autumn Box, Megan Hahn, and Raymond Starling. Oh, how she beamed with pride for each of them, and their children brought her such happiness—her great-grandchildren Lillian Schlichting, Kingston Hahn, Grayson Hahn, Khaleesi Hahn, Grace Morris, Justin Starling, Ryan Starling, Ashley Starling, Kaitlyn Starling, and Remington Starling, and great-great-granddaughter, Oaklyn Rose were her pride and joy, and she always express her gratitude for the family she had built.

Diane was a woman of simple pleasures; she found joy in shopping—oh, how she loved to shop! Whether it was rifling through thrift store treasures or paging through catalogs, she embraced the hunt with a zest for life that left her family and friends favorably amused.

She leaves behind a robust and loving family whose fond memories will forever echo in their hearts. Diane is survived by her sons Robert Box and Michael (Heidi) Box, along with her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Spunkie (Susie) King and Tommy (Jane) King, and her sisters: Helen Howard, Judy King, Phyllis Rewis, Shirley King, and Cleo Sapp. Special nieces, Theresa Barron and Lacy Barron, also hold a dear place in their hearts for Diane, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Diane joins her beloved parents, Floyd and Annie Mae King, her late husband Autis Walker, and her precious daughter, Dana Marie, who await her with open arms.
