Darrel was born in Gainesville, Florida at Alachua General Hospital. Being raised in Aluchua, Florida, family was very important. Darrel was a family man who loved kids, even if they were not his own. He loved to fix things and was always working on a new project. He never sat still and was always on the go! Darrel knew everyone. He loved his mastiff dogs which were his pride and joy. When he would talk to his grandchildren and great grandchildren, he would speak in his very own rendition of Donald Duck to gain laughter. He loved to dance, fish, and eat steak. He traveled Florida, Texas, Alaska and back again. He worked in construction and rode in the rodeo. Darrel will be greatly missed by all who encountered his presence.
Darrel is preceded in death by his mother; Linnie Mae Elwood, Father; Bernerd Lancaster, & Stepfather; Dwight Elwood. He is survived by his Daughter; Melody Lancaster and husband Christopher Cobb, Son; Timothy Bostwick and wife Cathy Harvey, Son; Joshua Crump and wife Grace Munguia, son; Christopher Lancaster and wife Cristal Wright, daughter Kami-Kaye Lancaster, Grandchildren and Great grandchildren Lea, Breana, Cecil, Cheyenne, Dillon, Jasmin, Isabella, & Darrell, Brother; Bernerd Keith Lancaster, Sister; Cheryl Daniels, Brother; Joseph Townsend Jr and wife Donna Pauline Townsend, Like Brother; Manuel De La Rosa and wife Christina De La Rosa, Like Brother; Jason Blissey and wife Debbie Como. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, family, & friends.
